2015 PRESIDENT’S Message
I am proud to have been part of this past year and honored to continue as President for this up coming season as we work in areas to make our Association bigger, better and stronger. Our Board members & team have worked countless hours to grow our organization; without our loyal Board Members we could not achieve this.
I would like to welcome our 2015 Board of Directors:
Scott Nishikawa, Phil Guenter, Kari Oriold, Chris Little, Wade Abbott, Scott Reiter, Joel Sanchez, Misti Dobson, Joel Weaver, Brett Ries, Marko Hilgersom & Shauna Gruninger.
I would also like to extend a thankful and delighted welcome back to our Program Facilitator Tara Yagos as she continues onto her 2nd year to help us do everything that she does which would take a whole page to list…Job Description: everything.
Having the support from our coaches, parents and volunteers is an overwhelming part of what our Association is grateful for. Our Coaches who teach, educated and give their time to your children is how we have been so successful. It is very important for everyone to appreciate the efforts that all our coaches, managers & volunteers do for us as it gives our children an opportunity to play baseball. The next time you see them, take the time to say “Thank You”; they are a big part of the reason your child is having a wonderful experience.
The Lakeview Concession and Building has been an ongoing project for the last few years. I am happy to announce that the renovation is in process. The City of Lethbridge has hired out to have this building built for our players to enjoy throughout the seasons for years to come. Please stay tuned on our website for pictures and updates. The building is slotted to be completed for April 2015. (Based on normal circumstance’s)
Registration will open up January 15th, 2015 - please see our website for the age changes Little League Canada has implemented.
The board has worked countless hours to help the development of our baseball players. Last year we implemented the Indoor Tech Practices, which had a great response. This year we are happy to announce that the indoor practices will continue similar to last with some changes as recommended from what we learned and from you (Thanks for filling out the surveys).
The website is our “GO TO” location for all your information needs. Please visit our website frequently for updates and other important information.
We continue as an Association to look for more ways to implement extended opportunities for kids to play summer ball. This past season I am happy to announce that we had a great year, with 7 Allstar teams. This year we will continue to work on how we can have more of our kids play. If you would like to contribute and help this great opportunity please email us as email@example.com. We can always use more support.
To conclusion, I am excited for another fabulous year of baseball. Watching the kids enjoy the game, learning, growing and having fun is what I love about what we do. With every sport there are challenges that we will continue to see but note that we do take every situation very seriously and filling out your surveys is a great way to help us get better. It is not a survey to undermine but an opportunity to help make our Association better for the next year. My goal as President is to continue to improve every year; this takes all of us working together.
Looking forward to a great year and looking forward to seeing you all on the ball field.
Lethbridge Southwest Little League.
